A cross-learning program was organized for the staff of ICAR-KVK Kodagu at ICAR-KVK Hirehalli on July 29-30, 2024. Dr. N. Loganandhan, Head of KVK Hirehalli, extended a warm welcome to the KVK Kodagu team which was led by Mr. Prabhakara B, Head KVK and engaged with them on ongoing activities, special programs, and infrastructure developments at KVK Hirehalli. Following the welcome, the Kodagu team toured the honey processing unit, KVK laboratories, and demonstration units at both KVK Hirehalli and the Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES).

On the second day, the program included a field visit to NICRA village D. Nagenahalli in the Yelerampura Gram Panchayat of Tumakuru District. During this visit, Mr. Mahesh, a progressive farmer, showcased his amla value addition products, which were developed under the guidance of KVK Hirehalli. The team also visited Mr. Lokesh, a natural farming practitioner who grows arecanut and rears silkworms. The exchange of experiences and insights between the two KVK teams led to a productive interaction and enriched knowledge sharing among the staff.
