On the eve of World Environment Day, June 5th, 2024, ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu organized a tree plantation campaign under the theme "Our Land, Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration." The program commenced with the planting of saplings at both the KVK office and the KVK farm in Athur.

The Head of KVK emphasized the importance of land restoration, combating desertification, and enhancing resilience to drought. A hundred plant saplings including silver oak, butter fruit, mahogany, and areca nut were distributed to the attending farmers. A lecture on World Environment Day was delivered by the Head of KVK, followed by a tree planting session at Balugodu High School in Virajpet.
