World Soil Day 2024 was celebrated at ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu on 5th December, 2024. with active participation from the Coffee Board, Arvathokalu, ATMA (State Agriculture Department), and Coromandel International Limited. The programme was inaugurated with manuring a plant, emphasizing the significance of soil health. Mr. Prabhakara, Head Incharge, KVK welcomed the participants and spoke about Integrated nutrient management, highlighting sustainable practices for maintaining soil fertility and productivity. The audience included participants from CIT, Ponnampet, and COA, Chamarajanagar, making the programme a collaborative and knowledge-sharing platform

Dr. Sridevi from Coffee Board, B N Somashekar from state agriculture department, Dr. Ganesh from CIT, Ponnampet and Kiran Kumar from Coromandel were the chief guests. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Mohankumar K.T., SMS (Soi Science). The event was witnessed by 54 enthusiastic participants from the district.
