A team of 25 farmers the Davangere KVK visited ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu as part of a study tour on 4th October 2024. Upon arrival, Mr. Prabhakara B, Head Incharge, warmly welcomed the farmers and provided an overview of KVK's mandates and activities. In the morning session, the group toured the KVK farm, where Smt. Lakshmi R., Farm Manager, discussed ongoing projects. She highlighted the scientific methods used in cultivating black pepper and arecanut nurseries.

The farmers also explored demonstration blocks featuring coffee, black pepper, arecanut, sapota, guava, and mixed fruit under natural farming practices, along with various farm machinery units in the horticulture section. Later, the group visited the animal science unit, where Dr. Suresh, SMS (Livestock), introduced them to the piggery, dairy, goatary, and vermicomposting demonstration units. This comprehensive tour provided the farmers with valuable insights into modern agricultural practices and sustainable farming techniques. At the end of the tour, the farmers expressed their gratitude for the valuable information they received, which they were eager to implement in their own farming practices.
