On the occasion of World Food Day, ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal Kodagu organized a Field Day on Nutrition Gardening at Mr. Francis's farm in Maldare village on October 16, 2024. The event attracted 15 participants and aimed to inspire local farmers to create their own nutrition gardens. The program covered essential topics such as garden layout preparation, crop selection, and management techniques. Participants benefited from hands-on learning led by Mr. Francis, an experienced practitioner of nutri-gardening, who shared innovative techniques and insights. To further motivate attendees, each participant received a Vegetable Seed Kit containing eight different seeds. In recognition of Mr. Francis's dedication to developing nutri-gardens, Mr. Prabhakara B, Head of KVK, presented him with a packet of vegetable special, neem soap, and a seed kit developed by IIHR, Bengaluru.

This initiative emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and practical engagement in promoting nutri-garden practices, ultimately enhancing food security in the community. The program was coordinated by Dr. Mrunal Bharbai, SMS (Home Science).
